print / paint / textile
I’m Anna Dymond, an artist and printmaker, who works primarily in lino print, oil paint and textiles.
My work straddles the mundane and magical; I take inspiration from myths and folklore from around the world and explore the talismanic quality of everyday objects.
My prints are hand-carved and hand-printed, meaning that each lino print is subtly unique. Hands are a frequent motif in my work and it is this obsession with the care and chaos of hand-crafted objects that keeps me coming back to relief printing. In an era of digital perfection, the mark of the human hand feels more precious than ever.
